Yannick Ferreira Carrasco scored the winning aim as Atletico Madrid beat Valencia and the Belgian was delighted with his crucial contribution.
Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco was thrilled just after scoring the winner within a 2-1 victory over Valencia on Sunday.
Jackson Martinez opened the scoring within the 32nd minute at Estadio Vicente Calderon prior to Carrasco produced it 2-0 with a gorgeous solo effort 5 minutes ahead of the half-time break.
Valencia striker Paco Alcacer pulled a single back with a late penalty, but Atletico held on for the win, Carrasco’s aim proving the distinction.
And the 22-year-old Belgian admitted it was a tense conclusion for the game as Valencia pushed for an equaliser.
“The final 30 minutes have been pretty difficult for us,” he told Canal+.
“Valencia was with confidence, they had to score, but we played the game and we did nicely.”
Carrasco’s objective was his second of your Liga season following an off-season transfer from AS Monaco.
“At 1st it was really hard for me,” Carrasco mentioned of his adjustment to life in Spain’s prime flight. “I continue functioning and I hope to play the entire championship.”
